Backlash against owner of bikini lawn care company
Memphis, Tn.

Lee Cathey's claim to fame is Tiger Time Lawn Care. At a customer's request, Cathey will send women in bikinis to do your yard work. But it may be the bikini cut that forces Cathey out of an organization he's been part of for years.

"It's an act of perversion," said Dewayne Lufcy. "It's degrading to women."

Lufcy is a parent. He doesn't appreciate Tiger Time Lawn Care or its owner. Owner Cathey serves as part of the Shelby Youth Sports League. "I don't want my kids affiliated with him period."

Lufcy says he's thinking of pulling his children out of the league in protest.

"That's okay, that's their opinion," said Cathey. "It's no different than going to the beach. It's no different than seeing models on the runway."

Cathey says he loves giving back to a league in which he used to play. Since 1994 he's helped an organization with children ages 6 to 14 participate in football, track and cheerleading. "It's fun. It's something I enjoy. Working with 300-400 kids every year, year in and year out."

We couldn't find many people to speak against Cathey. In fact, just the opposite. Chris Barker told us Cathey is "just a dedicated person who loves kids and loves to watch them grow and earn the discipline that they get from sports."

Lufcy on the other hand says he's not convinced and he's not giving up without a fight. He plans to voice his complaints in front of the Shelby Youth Sports League's Board of Directors during a meeting next Tuesday.

What’s next for Bikini Lawn Care? Pitching Products.

Lee Cathey and his bikini clad lawn care staff of Tiger Time Lawn Care have set the globe on fire. Newspapers from nations as far away as India and China have written about his company. “People seem to have become entranced by Lee” said Kevin Parker, marketing director of Gopher Lawn Care Software, “They just can’t get enough of him. Lee is living the American dream. Just three short months ago he had posted on our lawn care business forum that he wanted to start a lawn care business and was looking for ways to attract customers. It seems a few of those lawn care marketing ideas have worked. He has customers ringing his phone off the hook.”

So how do you follow up being on the front page of CNN’s website, to The New York Times, to Fox & Friends, what do you do to top that? How about becoming a product pitchman. That’s right. Look for Lee to be promoting products for the lawn care industry. “Why not? Everyone is talking about him, it’s a natural progression,” said Kevin. “We put together some advertisement ideas and sent them off to our friends in the industry and the reaction has been amazing. As we speak he is in talks with multiple companies, including a potential cross country bikini lawn care tour to promote the products and meet all the folks who have helped him become such a success.”

Stay tuned, you may be watching a bikini lawn care business reality show too. For more information on this story or for business advice visit our forum at

From Memphis to Milan, Southaven to Shanghai, our story about bikini-clad women cutting Mid-South lawns is making worldwide headlines.

Tiger Time Lawn Care has become a hit in print, online and on television and radio stations across the globe.

It was an overnight sensation from coast to coast with beauties in bikinis shaping lawns and landscapes in Memphis.

The story was also picked up in papers like the Washington Post and USA today .

It made worldwide headlines as well in places as far away as China and India.

"One guy from California has asked me to come and see him and I said no," said Blair Beckman.

Beckman says her Myspace page has been flooded with email. People everywhere complimenting not her love of lawns, but her body in a bikini.

Beckman added, "they've seen me on the news, I was hot and all this other stuff so it's alright."

Alright for Blair and alright for Tiger Time Lawn Care who didn't get the international attention until our story aired.

"When WMC channel 5 did theirs it took off around the world," said Owner Lee Cathey.  "I did two interviews in Australia, one in New Zealand and I even had the BCC call and we did one in Europe. I had a guy from New Zealand call after I did the radio interview wanting me to come cut his grass," he added.

The newfound fame gave Tiger Time more work and a need for more girls. But two recent hires were too embarrassed to do the bikini cuts so Tiger Time is still searching for the next shapely body ready to bare a bikini.

"It'd be good to have more girls out here so there will be more of a variety to look at," said Blair.

So what about male tigers showing skin with the lady tigers?

Cathey adds, "nobody's called and requested it. If it comes up and they request it by gosh we'll find a way to do it."

For now, it's the signature bikini cut that's re-shaping lawns and turning heads in Memphis while gaining international attention.

July 27, 2007 Tiger Time Lawn Care had a second visit from Andrew Douglas from WMC TV 5.  More footage of the bikini cut and interviews with Val and Blair. See the interview at http://www.wmctv5.com/

July 5, 2007  Tiger Time Lawn Care was visited today by Tom Dees from Fox 13 News. The footage they shot of a Bikini Cut will be aired 7/6/07 at about 8:30 AM.  In the mean time we took some pictures of the event.
